Faeries o’ the Howe

It's been a busy time of year for the

                faeries o’ the howe

They have had a busy few weeks harvesting their winter store, before Jack Frosts arrival.
The fae folk have been busy collecting sticks and pine cones, necessary fuel to keep the home fires burning.

As the nights draw in, the fae have now finished their harvesting work. They spend their evenings in their wee bothies, cutting and sewing, creating their Winter Solstice clothes for the Winter Solstice Ceilidh.
Samples of home made beverages are tried and tested, some tastes creating a few happy giggles!
If you are a ‘faeliever’ (believer of fae) and you are very quiet, you may even hear the joyous giggles and singing of the Fae folk on the shortest day.....

Im lucky enough to have been welcomed in to the private lives of the Faeries o' the Howe. On strict instructions that I do not photograph them....Instead, I have been granted permission to sketch and paint images reflecting their lives. And I can share stories about them, but I must respect and protect their exact whereabouts.
